The mandate of the European Union's Directorate General for Development "is to enhance the development policies in all developing countries world-wide." DG Development provides policy guidance on development policy and oversees the programming of EU aid in the ACP countries. The European Union, the world’s largest donor in Africa, has launched this comprehensive website on the EU Strategy for Africa. This is the online version of the 87 page 2006 Atlas mapping donor assistance from the European Union. It provides maps of both the sources and recipients of donor aid, as well as illustrations of aid by development indicators and trade and migration flows.
